Beta Club members: It’s time to renew your membership. Your dues of $10 need to be paid to your grade sponsor by Sept. 11, which is also our first meeting. 10th grade – Mrs. Akiona, 11th grade – Mrs. Gober, and 12th grade – Mrs. Fox.
If you would like to ride a pep bus to the Sequoyah football game Friday night, pick up a permission form from Ms. Pickens as soon as possible.
Beta Club invitations are going out this week for new members. If you are a sophomore, junior, or senior and are new to Walker Valley this year and think you might qualify for membership, please see Mrs. Fox in room G112. Any 9th grader who was a member of the Jr. Beta Club last year but DID NOT go to Ocoee Middle School needs to Mrs. Wielfaert in first floor blue hall.
Any student that would like to obtain service hours for Tennessee Scholars or Circle of Champions may do so on Saturday, Sept. 13 at the Cowpea Festival. You can check the board outside of Guidance for the phone number to call or stop by Guidance for more information.
ACT practice is Wednesday and Friday mornings in Mr. Mehling’s room, G106. He will meet you in the cafeteria at 7:35am and escort you to his room.
Students are invited to join the Jr. Civitan Club. Applications for new and returning club members are available in the Guidance Office and there is an opportunity to win a one year free membership. See Mrs. Patterson in Guidance or Mrs. Hammer in Special Services for more details.
Attention 10th and 11th grade students. The PSAT will be given on October 15. If you are interested in taking the test, the cost is $15.00 and you will need to sign up (with payment) in the Guidance office by Sept. 17. First block teachers should have more information posted in their classroom if you are interested or you may stop by Guidance to see Ms. McClanahan or Mrs. Akiona.
Attention Juniors and Seniors! The annual College Fair will be held September 8th from 9-11am at Lee University. Over 50 Colleges and Universities will be on hand! This is a great opportunity to learn about the educational opportunities available after graduation. Please stop by the Guidance Office to pick up a permission slip. Space is limited to 200 students, so first come first serve. Permission slips are due September 3rd in the Guidance Office.
Those interested in joining the Walker Valley Key Club need to fill out an application prior to November 14.
If you are currently enrolled or will be in a Marketing class this year, sign up for DECA. Talk to Mrs. Swafford in BU2 for information regarding the course and club.
Attention all Students…FBLA membership applications are now available outside MCLA3 (Ms. Brady’s room) or from any officer. Forms and dues can be turned in to Ms. Brady in MCLA3 or Mr. Bryan in MCLA2. If you are a returning member we need you to complete a new form when you pay your dues.
Any female student interested in joining Anchor Club may pick up a membership form in the media center. These need to be filled out and returned by tomorrow, August 28. The first Anchor Club meeting will be Tuesday, September 2 in the media center at 1:30.
