Public Service Announcement Evaluation – Broadcasting I – Fall 2014

Broadcasting I Students:

    1.) A commercial is an advertisement for a product, but a PSA is to raise awareness for an campaign.
    2.) children/ teens
    3.) To be a good person and stop bullying.
    4.) The Cartoon Network “Stop Bullying, Speak Up” Campaign.
    5.) Trying to get Rena’s image on the green screen.

  3. 1. A public service announcement is trying to get you to stop or continue something, a commercial is trying to sell you a product.
    2.pregnant women
    3. That women should not get an abortion.
    4. We used the pregnancy center website to get the side affects of abortion.
    5.Adding in the music.

  4. 1. A commercial is advertising a product, and a PSA is something to try to get people to stop or start doing something.
    2. Pregnant women who are thinking about getting an abortion.
    3. To choose life over getting an abortion.
    4. We used the pregnancy center website to look at the side effects of getting an abortion.
    5. We are not actually in our video, but we shot an audio and we had to say it loud and clear so it could be heard over the music. Picking which song to use was hard also.

  5. 1. A public service announcement tries to persuade a person not to do something, while a commercial tries to get the viewer to buy their product.

    4. We didn’t use any resources for our PSA.

    5. The most difficult part of the shooting phase was trying to film inside a car.
    The most difficult part of the editing phase was finding the right music to be in the background of our video.

  6. 1-PUBLIC SERVICE ANNOUNCEMENTS ARE A MESSAGE THAT THEY ARE TRYING TO GET ACROSS TO AN AUDIENCE THAT WILL LEAVE AN IMPRINT, AND POSSIBLY SAVE LIVES, AND HELP OTHER PEOPLE.A COMMERCIAL FOR A PRODUCT IS A COMPANY TRYING TO PERSUADE YOU TO HELP THEM IN THEIR BUSINESS AND THEIR COMPANY
    2- ANYONE OLD ENOUGH TO DRIVE, AND TEENAGERS
    3- DON’T DRINK AND DRIVE IT COULD COST YOU YOUR LIFE.
    4- GOOGLE IMAGES
    5-FILIMING IN THE CAR AND GETTING ALL THE RIGHT ANGLES, AND THEN FINDING THE RIGHT MUSIC TO SET THE RIGHT TONE.

    1. A PSA is getting a message out to stop doing something or to keep doing something and a commercial is advertising a product that people would want to buy.
    2. The target audience was teenagers.
    3. Our message was that drugs were bad and weren’t worth doing.
    4. The resource we used was AbovetheInfluence.com
    5. The most difficult part of shooting was the part where he had to smoke the drugs because the “drug” kept unrolling since it was a little piece of paper. The hardest part of editing was making the part where he was using the drugs different than when he wasn’t.

    2.Teens and adolescents in school were our target audience.
    3. Stay in school if you want to maintain a happy life.
    4.Cameras, puppets, and the green screen are the materials we used.
    5.The time limit was the hardest part.

    2) Teenagers were our target audience.
    3) We were trying to get people to stay off of Heroin.
    4) We didn’t use much resources, only for the amount of people who are effected by Heroin.
    5) We didn’t have many problems, but writing the script was hard.

    1. A PSA gives people an important message and a commercial tries to sell a product.
    2. Our target audience is teens and young adults.
    3. To not commit suicide because you’re not alone. And that rape and sexual assault is a serious issue.
    4. We used suicide and rape info sites.
    5. It was really hard to make the video only a minute long.

  12. 1. The difference between a commercial and a PSA is a commercial is for a product or service you want to advertise for someone to buy. A PSA is a commercial for a topic that is serious that you can prevent or have a say in to make the world a better place.

    2. Our PSA was about bullying and suicide. This commercial and topic could go for all viewers. Suicide is a issue for a large range of ages and you can be any age to bully someone or be on the receiving end of it.

    3. We were trying to let people know that bullying and suicide is a serious thing that does happen and that we do effect other people with what we say and do.

    5. The hardest part of filming the video was making sure we portrayed everything the way we wanted it to look in the video. The hardest part about editing was making it look real and making sure it would pull emotions when someone watched it.

    3.The message is that you are not alone

    5. I thought that being serious in front of the camera was hard.

    3. That anyone can commit suicide and you need to be careful what you say, also let kids know that they are not alone.

    4.people that was effected by the stuff .
    5. at the end where we had a close up on the stuff we were using

    3)That using drugs to solve your problems is only going to negatively affect you.

    5)Writing the script to effectively relay our message.

    3. That suicide and sexual assault is a big issue that needs to be dealt with.

    5. Getting the angles and audio right.
