Today’s Announcements – March 6, 2015


Registration for Circle of Champions is now open. You may go to the WVHS webpage to find the link or download the Spill app and complete the form there.  You must complete the online registration AND turn in your service hours to Guidance no later than 3:30pm on March 13.  If you have questions, please stop by guidance.

Work-based learning will have their scheduled meeting today outside of the auditorium. Please be there at the appropriate time.

The 10th grade Writing Assessment begins Monday, March 9th    and goes through Thursday, March 12th.    Teachers have a list of students taking the assessment on all days.  Please check with your teacher to find out what day you are assigned to take the test.

Nathaniel Rahn and Timothy Sullins have been accepted to the Tennessee Governor’s School for the Arts for 2015.

All new football players:  There will be after school workouts today!  Make arrangements to stay or see Coach Craig before 3:30 in G205.

Art Club will meet Monday, March 9 during CCRT to discuss tie dying.

Dance Team tryouts are rescheduled for April 13-17 in the auditorium.

NEHS Seniors, you need to have money for the cords and medallions to Mrs. Wielfaert or Mrs. Wright by our next meeting, March 10 (you may bring the money to the meeting). Cords are $10 and medallions are $14.

Come to the “Not So Newly Wed” game today to see Walker Valley’s faculty couples compete in a marital showdown to claim the title of the Valley’s best couple. Ticket are $1.00, available in the cafeteria this week.

Seniors, please turn in your permission forms for the ACT day field trip to the main office.

Attention anyone interested in Color Guard:  There will be an informational meeting Tuesday, March 10 from 4:00-5:00pm in the choir room.  Color Guard tryouts will start Monday, March 16 from 4:00-6:00pm in bandroom.  See Mrs. Hunt in the nurses’s office for any questions.

Key Club officer elections for the 2015-2016 school year will be held at the March meeting.  See Mr. Hood or an officer for more details.

Seniors, if you plan on attending TCAT of Athens and you have below a 19 on the ACT, you will need to take the Test of Adult Basic Education prior to being admitted. This test is mandatory and it is  offered on March 9th at 4pm.
