Students who were unable to attend the informational meeting for the trip to Spain, Portugal and France but are still interested in enrolling need to see Mrs. Picchiottino in G212 to pick up an itinerary and enrollment application. Don’t forget that September 30th is the deadline to receive a $200 early enrollment discount. Students must sign up prior to that date to be eligible. The winner of the $100 Amazon gift card will be announced in early October.

The softball team will be hosting a Faculty/Student basketball game on Friday, October 2 during Activity Period. Come out and watch your favorite teachers and students play, plus get out of class. Tickets are $1 each. Softball players will be selling tickets during lunch and CCRT all week. If you would like to play, please see Coach Limburg in G215.

Tryouts for Drama Club’s production of It’s a Wonderful Life will be Monday, Tuesday, and Thursday, September 28, 29 and October 30. We need lots of people for this production so come by Mrs. Wright’s room, CL3, to pick up an audition form. You do not have to try out every day. Pick one, but make sure you have the information from Mrs. Wright before you show up.
Students can now sign up for the hiking club with Coach Shrestha in G115 or Ms. Tipton in G208. The cost is $5 per student. The first trip is Oct. 18-19 to Blood Mountain. Space is limited. Get your sign up forms now.

TN Promise Scholarship Saturday will be held at Tennessee College of Applied Technology on Saturday, September 26th from 10:00am to 2:00pm.
Beta Club members need to turn in their $10 yearly dues to their grade sponsor by Sept. 25. If you received an invitation to join the club, you also have until Sept. 25 to turn in dues and the application. If you are new to Walker Valley this year or are a freshmen who did not attend OMS last year and you think you qualify for membership, please see Mrs. Fox in room G112.
Cover2Cover Book Club will meet Tuesday, September 29th in the media center. Please come by the media center and pick up a pass prior to this first meeting.
For 10th and 11th grade students, the PSAT measures skills that are important for success in college-verbal reasoning, critical reading, math problem-solving, and writing. Taking the PSAT enables students to: get feedback about critical academic skills, enter scholarship competitions, seek information from colleges, and practice for SAT program tests. 11th grade students may qualify for the National Merit Scholarship by taking this test. 10th grade students who wish to qualify for the National Merit Scholarship as 11th graders are encouraged to take this test as 10th graders to help them prepare for the qualifying test next year. Students are recommended to have a 3.0 in order to sign up for the PSAT. The Test date is Wednesday, October 14 8:30 am at Walker Valley High School. The fee is $15.00 per student to be paid for by the student and checks are made out to Walker Valley High School.
