Any student interested in playing tennis in the spring needs to get a player packet outside of Coach Hardesty’s room G213. Packets are due on Tuesday, November 1 and Tryouts are on Thursday, November 3.
The National Honors Society is conducting its annual food drive for the Southern Heritage Community Food Drive this week, Oct. 31-Nov. 3. In lieu of the traditional turkey feathers competition, NHS will be hosting a football game on Nov. 18. Students can purchase tickets or donate canned goods for admission to the game. NHS members will be selling the tickets and collecting non-perishable food items during lunch and MAP all this week. Please contact Mrs. Wood, Ms. Everett or Mrs. McChesney if you have any questions.
Creating Christmas Memories/Empty Stocking Fund will be held Sunday, Nov. 13th from 8:00am – 12:00 noon at South Cleveland Wal-Mart. There will be an informational meeting for any sophomore, junior, or senior student in need of service hours who would like to participate. This meeting will be held in the auditorium during MAP on Thursday, Nov. 10th. Students need to come by the media center and sign up by Monday, Nov. 7th in order to attend. Also, if you are unable to assist with the shopping lists, there will be other days where students will be needed to wrap presents and help with the children’s party. The 2016 Jace Race in memory of Jace Taylor will be held Saturday, November 19 at 8:00am at BCHS. Proceeds from the race will go to create a scholarship in Jace’s memory. Registration forms are available in the main office.
Sophomores that need Credit Recovery, remember to bring your signed permission form back to guidance so we can get you signed up for Credit Recovery.
Seniors, Balfour will be on campus to take orders for graduation invitations Thursday, November 3. Your teachers will have a list of times you are to report to the auditorium to place your order. If you were not here for the meeting Monday, you may drop by the main office to pick up an order packet.
Lip Sync: Battle of the Academies will be Tuesday, November 22. Get your academy lip sync teams together. Your music must bee approved by your Academy by November 4th and your act must be approved by November 18. Academy teacher acts need to verify registration by November 11. See Mr. Bryan or Ms. Brady if you have questions.
Would you like to design something for Tennessee State FBLA Competition? If so, see Ms. Brady or Mr. Bryan by November 1st for details. Design projects include: program cover, conference t-shirt and state trading pin.
The network coordinator for Operation Christmas Child is looking for volunteers on Monday, November 21 from 4:00-6:00pm to help collect the shoe boxes as they come in on the final day of collection. If you are interested in helping with this, contact Christy Williams at 423-503-3710.
